Interesting here that he is claiming the payment was to stop untrue accusations right before the election. This absolutely does not ring true because if this were a political dirty trick -- one would have expected Daniels to immediately have both her story AND proof of the payment put out before the election. The payment would actually give weight to the claims. (The consequence for breaking the deal was money )

Gu911ni was trying to frame this as a simple campaign violation. That trump knew about the agreement, therefore the NDA is valid and if she speaks he will sue her. In the process he exposed trump's lies, alluded to the payment to being "funneled" through a 3rd party to hide his involvement, and possible felonies.

What does the Constitution say about impeachment for high crimes and misdemeanors?

And 2. Said he knows nothing about it.

And.... that is not how retainers work. A retainer basically keeps a lawyer “on staff” for you in case legal issues arise. It is not a slush fund from which payments to other parties can be made. If he is sending Cohen payments to be applied to the NDA, that is not a “retainer”.
