3. Conundrum: Are they that dumb or that smart?

Surely these kiss-ups will get their pat on the head for craven pandering. But did they perhaps know that their letter was too late for the deadline? That would be really Machiavellian of them. Which means I don't think they did it on purpose.

Could they nominate now for next year’s prize?

8. It says nominations must be submitted before Feb. 1 the same year,

so wouldn't that mean they would have to submit it in Jan. 2019 to qualify for the 2019 Nobel? Aren't they both too late for 2018 and too early for 2019?

10. That means that they have to be sent in before Feb 1 of the same year in which the award is given

It doesn't mean there is a one-month window (January 1 to February 1) to submit nominations, which is what your interpretation would mean.

The letter isn't a formal nomination in any event. That has to be done via an online form starting in September.

9. Does anyone here really think Trump was responsible for NK denuclearization

and peace between NK and SK? There has to be another reason for this, but I am not familiar enough with the politics of the region to understand what it was. I just don't believe that Trump is that influential. The only thing is capable of is uniting people against him.
