Kathy Griffin is taking back her apology to Trump and his family

Comedian Kathy Griffin is making a comeback after the controversy surrounding her photo of her holding a bloodied head of President Donald Trump.

While Griffin made apologies for what she thought was funny and ironic given years of similar attacks on Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, now she’s taking back that apology.

“Yeah, I take the apology back. F*ck him,” she told the hosts of “The View” Monday. “And Don Jr. and Eric, or as I call them Eddie Munster and Date Rape.’ I’m not holding back on this family. This president is different and I have been through the mill and so now I’m back on the road. I sold out Carnegie Hall in less than 24 hours.”

She explained that her mother, who watches Fox News and “thinks that it’s real,” was afraid that her own daughter had been recruited by Al-Qaeda or ISIS. “I had to tell her, ‘I don’t think they’re taking 57-year-old red-haired Irish-American comedians today.”

When asked if she regrets apologizing, Griffin said she did.

“I mean, I’m not kidding. I’ve performed in Iraq and Afghanistan. Two places Trump has never been and can’t find on a map,” she continued. “If course with my connection with the military I thought of literally Daniel Pearl’s mother and so I thought, OK, obviously not very many people literally witnessed that horrendous event but when I thought of her I thought, OK, apologize. And then when I found out that I was really just kind of part of the Trump wood chipper which Michelle Wolf is in now and, you know, I didn’t know they had this apparatus already set up before my silly picture of a $5 halloween mask and ketchup and wanted to make a statement about what a misogynist he is.”

I'm hoping that Michelle Wolf (didn't know her either) and Kathy Griffin and lots of other people with a voice tell it like it is.

And this is corruption at the highest levels. It is not some dumbbell that waltzed his way into the election. This is a premeditated way to eviscerate our freedoms.

Kathy has always had a sailor's mouth trash talking celebrities. From the Joan Rivers School of Comedy. Not everyone's cup of tea, but lord she's never been afraid to put herself on others' shitlists. The decapitated head photo incident was very strange; she was legit afraid for her safety unlike any point in her career.

As for Wolf, I'm there with you. Hadn't heard of her before the WHCD, but she's been on Comedy Central's Daily Show since years ago. Apparently no one learned their lesson from when they invited Stephen Colbert during the Bush years. They aren't exactly friendly towards conservative regimes on Comedy Central. Pulling from that talent pool is either not paying attention at all or knowing EXACTLY what you're doing.

Trump can go on a twitter tirade or call up Fox News and have an unhinged meltdown for 20 straight minutes bad mouthing everyone and everything imaginable, and nobody calls him out on in, but as soon as someone else says even one thing about Trump the media is all over them, and that is the real problem here, trump has programmed the media to normalize his behavior while acting outraged when anyone else does it, the media needs to be taken to the mat for this, especially people like Andrea Mitchell.
