WASHINGTON — Sen. Lindsey Graham has previously called President Trump “a kook,” “unfit for office” and a “political car wreck.

But the South Carolina Republican and one-time Trump rival for the GOP presidential nomination said Friday that the president could end up deserving the Nobel Peace Prize for how he’s handled the situation with North Korea.

"Donald Trump convinced North Korea and China he was serious about bringing about change," Graham tweeted. "We're not there yet, but if this happens, President Trump deserves the Nobel Peace Prize."

Since the presidential primary, Graham and Trump have gotten closer and the Republican senator has frequently praised the president. However, he has also not hesitated to criticize Trump when the two have disagreed.

South Korea together, but I am not an expert on the situation. Can someone please explain to me exactly what conditions ARE responsible for this momentous change?

Also, can you explain what effect, if any, that Trump might have had on the situation. I am pretty sure he has done nothing positive, but I want a good argument for the inevitable run in with my republican relatives who will tell me that Trump brokered peace between North and South Korea with a completely straight face.

Kim made his moves on his own... anyone with any kind of sense, should know that Kim was working toward being able to bargain from a position of power! HAVING A NUKE IS POWER.... That is why he can make overture to S. Korea and work with China to help make the unifying possible as a two leader nation.

This man took the dare to find means to get where he could bargain, that was to develop a nuke and a delivery system!!!! Sanction's never slowed him down, because other nations were working with him and were not going to be deterred from doing so. Anyone would be insane to think nations were not helping him. China made sure they could eat and have medicine, while knowing that N. Korea was investing in development of the Nuke.
Nothing would have happen if he had not achieved his testing and done so in a way that he knew he could not be attacked, and fact is, attacking him would have been foolish and garnered world condemnation, because it would have meant the lives of Millions in South Korea and Japan would have been lost. Furthermore, China and Russia were not going to sit Idle and allow a Western Power to set up anything in N. Korea... so there was nothing to be accomplished by attacking him, other than the escalation of World War.

These nations around the world know, that America is in no position to have another ground war anyplace... the expended manpower in Iraq and Afghanistan showed that conclusively, when troops were being "cycled in 3-4-5 time", until troop were simply burnt out, and people were not and are not rushing to sign up for military duty. And as of this day and time, America is in no position that the people would accept a Draft.

The people know the "paid goon squads" have raked in "$Billions" and someone knows, the military industrial system has played and gamed the system to create and prolong conflicts to garner money for "goon squads" and "weapon selling".

We are not the smartest nation on the planet, no matter how much we want to think so. Information moves around the world at the flicker of a keyboard's keys. It's no longer a world as it was before. We can't even keep our systems from being hacked !!!!! We don't build anything, and we can't even fix and repair and maintain the things generations before us built up. So the illusion can only play out so far... and then the truths show up.

We may pump massive money into Military, and most of that is drained off by Hardware manufacturing of the Military profiteers, and then there is the dumping of massive billions into "private organizations" that are not much more than hired guns.
America as a nation once had a capable military, that did not need to hire "private goons with guns". We have the most wasteful military system on the planet, which can't even take care of its own veterans, and spin so much red tape and deflecting and diverting games that it won't even settle claims for Veterans.

Kim knew and he knows it time for him to Join the World Economic System, and they will become a player in the AIIB ( Asian Infrastructure Bank), because N. Korea has a disciplined population and a disciplined population can be trained to do any jobs that Industry brings... We should have learned that from the fast rise of China. We should see it from many nations that are in the Asian region, whose culture is such, that they can quickly train people. They still respect the premise of "OJT" ( On the Job Training)... American Executive are too greedy to respect the American people enough to provide "OJT". It's too busy trying to "sell University Degree" for jobs that have no need for what they are issues degree for. It's why a greater % of American never work in the field of their degree. Many Degree become nothing more than a "Get A Job Certificate"... then when people get the degree, they are not willing to do the "labor jobs that need to be done". but they disrespect the "labor performers" as if the Degree Makes them something they are not.

We need to pay attention to the ways other nations are working today. China goes around the globe building "cooperative agreements"... not like American that went around the world "playing the carrot on a stick game" and then strong arming nations in ways that brought dissension and contempt at America prospering at the expense of other nations.

All Trump can do is alienate America and the work between N. and S. Korea will continue, and they can and will if they need to petition the United Nations and NATO to help them declare the war is no more between them. The turn of events can't be attributed to Trump and the wild madness of Republican trying to claim credit for something they can't and did not control is another Right Wing Atrocity of Mis-Information and False Bravado about something they had no dominant part in.

Kim knew when he got the Nuke, that it was a game changer.... and he met his goal of finding means to push forward, he tested the waters and found out, that no one could touch him without damaging a massive volume of people, so he moved on until he got the ability to have the Power to Negotiate.

So.... NO Way should Trump's name be spoken in the same sentence with the worlds Nobel Prize. !!!!!!!!

...to Kim Dae-jung, President of South Korea at the time. At the time, they hoped that his efforts in meeting with Kim Jong Il could end the cold war between the Koreas.
