After speech, GOP rep calls Macron 'socialist militarist globalist'

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) blasted French President Emmanuel Macron on Wednesday as a "socialist militarist globalist science-alarmist," as the French leader addressed members of Congress.

"French President is a socialist militarist globalist science-alarmist... the dark future of the American Democratic Party," Massie tweeted.

Macron during a speech on Capitol Hill urged Americans to reject "isolationism" and warned that the international community would continue to evolve with or without the U.S.

He also took aim at a culture of "fear and anger" that has emerged in the U.S. and Europe, and called on Americans to turn away from "extreme nationalism."
