(51,629 posts)I think we have another fucking moron wanting to serve in the WH. Get this was a copy of US history and the constitution. I doubt he ever read a word of either.
In the meantime, donate to Freedom From Religion Foundation...that is if you aren't afraid of burning in Hell.

FREEDOM DEPENDS UPON FREETHINKERS.
Wont you join FFRF in our critical work to promote nontheism and defend the constitutional separation between religion and government? With more than 30,000 members, FFRF, a 501(c)(3) nonprophet nonprofit, works as an effective state/church watchdog and voice for freethought (atheism, agnosticism, skepticism).

(Mona) Haydar jokes about kicking metaphorical ass while also preaching a message of love, peace, and justice, drawing inspiration from the prophets Muhammad and Jesus (with whom she admits to having a passionate love affair) and the teachings of the Buddha. She refers to the prophets as the pinnacle of possibility, and adds, Im Muslim because I believe in all of them. Its wildly inclusive. That makes many people uncomfortable.

I have had the honor of knowing many Muslims in my life as well as having a few in the circle of people I love, not a single one did not think Jesus is a holy man. The problem is, Pompeo doesn't want to hear about Muslims like Mona Haydar...

(2,091 posts)Back in the bad old days, one religion would control one state and the result was people who did not share that faith were persecuted.
The way to stop this is for NO religion to have government favoritism or power.
Back in the day, some of the leading proponents of separation of church and state were religious leaders. It's one thing to be a religious leader if your religion is in power, but quite another if yours is not in power. Separation of church and state is a protection of freedom of religion from a government that could hold power over it.
The dominionists want to rewrite American history as if we are some sort of "christian nation".....oblivious to the dangers they would pose to the religious and other freedoms of every American, believer or not.
Or put another way, this is a power grab and they want to have power.
