We may never learn all the facts.

But Trump is close to countries that produce oil and gas like Saudi Arabia and probably Russia. He is extremely anti-environment and pro-coal and fossil fuels.

And gas prices go up when investment and interest in alternative energy are pushed down by private and government policies.

That's my opinion. I could be wrong, but I have always suspected that Trump's support is from the fossil fuel sector and that his very presence at the helm in D.C. is viewed by that sector as a reason to liberate their greed.

Anyway, if the high gas prices push down consumption, the joke is on the fossil fuel fanatics. So be it.

I'm in NY and that price will not be far behind.
We drive a lot. The family is pretty far flung and this is going to pinch the ole wallet this summer.

After all, you all got that pay raise recently - I read about it somewhere. Now you can afford that gasoline increase, might have to cut back a bit on food and heating, but that just makes you better people accounting for all that there extra pennies you be getting.

Gasoline went from $2.27 to $2.76 in one week in our neck of the woods (NW Florida)

couldn't get over $.09 a gallon for gas...a more current peek at gas prices round the world - at link...

https://www.globalpetrolprices.com/Saudi-Arabia/gasoline_prices/

Also the Saudis are weaning themselves off oil for future economic reasons..thus, now, they look for $80-$90 a barrel of crude....good read at link from 12/17

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-12-11/saudis-are-said-to-plan-80-gasoline-price-increase-in-January

In AZ this time of year we switch to a summer blend of gas which "they" say costs more for refining...$2.56 - I check gasbuddy for least expensive gas..plus use gas credits from grocery store..CA is now hovering around $3 or more..you can check all states at link....

Now, aren't you glad you asked????

We have a big tax - which despite being Corbett-era, I'm actually ok with.

Theses taxes were applied at the exact perfect time - when gas prices were falling...so the tax increases weren't too painful.

The Saudis don't care about making Trump look good. Eff him. The Banksters are profit-taking on Wall Street, and now the oil producers are profit-taking. Why should they help him look good?
