(4,670 posts)would have worn to prom in some previous decade. This person wearing it makes everything ugly because her evil shines from within. If a radiant Michelle Obama wore it, it would be gorgeous.
We all spend our money differently, and she's rich. I'm not rich, but I splurge on relatively frivolous things. It's not a rich vs. poor thing we fight.

(24,259 posts)At the waist (not my thing) I think it's a rather fun and pretty dress. She certainly has the figure for it and while I agree it's a ridiculous amount to pay for a dress, it's not my money she spent on it so it's not my issue.
I just can't get worked up over how someone looks or their taste in clothes. I'm far from perfect looks wise, I like clothing styles others may not and don't care for other styles others may love. I judge a person by their actions, not appearance.

(40,220 posts)I cant decide if it looks like an Easter dress for a five year old or a shower curtian.
That said, the Kushners have nothing to smile about.

(2,243 posts)Muddy and a bit washed out. I suspect it makes a whole world of difference for this piece.
I can only imagine the designer is very disappointed.

(998 posts)That is one butt ugly dress. The sad part is she is an attractive woman and would look stunning in a simple, well designed gown. Most of the high school girls at last week's prom wore better looking dresses. At a fraction of the cost by the way. A few were even borrowed.

(15,696 posts)Both Ivanka and Melania are built like runway models, but someone gave them ginormous hangy-down breasts that end about an inch above the natural waistline. This ruins the overall look of most formfitting dresses and makes the observer wonder what's wrong with the design. I'd love to know what Tim Gunn thinks of this dress and the shape of the woman wearing it.

(4,492 posts)But I did have similar dresses in the late 80s/early 90s. American Girl (then historic dolls) were taking off and there were fashions to dress like your doll. My cousin had several of them (I wanted some of my own, but they were expensive) that I was handed down.

(12,679 posts)My 27-year old stepdaughter would look nice in it.
But again, the neckline is too high and a bit too busy; makes for an unattractive bust - someone wearing that neckline should be wearing at most a size b and have a long neck.
Should be a draped 1930's style instead of frilled. Then it would look somewhat like the dress Belloc gave Marion Ravenwood in the first Raiders of the Lost Ark.

I personally do not much care what people wear. I remember that was a big thing in middle school.

(58,785 posts)over Ivanka's clothes. I'm slopping around home in an oversize t-shirt and synthetic jersey-type elastic-waist slacks right now, but the people I know who are always well groomed and dressed tend to adhere to standards somewhat above this in other respects also. There are exceptions, of course, and I'm imagining Andrea Mitchell and her DC cohort chortling over vicious lies about Hillary Clinton, but that's pure malice, not resentment or jealousy.
