I believe Sanders and every other politician hoping for a Democratic nomination

should submit a minimum of 5 years of full tax returns BEFORE they enter the first primary or caucus, so that the primary voters are fully informed.

Nobody who fails to do this will have any standing to argue that DT -- or any Republican -- should make his returns public.

I STILL don't understand why all the Democratic primary candidates didn't do this in 2015-16.

I was at my local Trader Joe's parking lot when I heard Scaliar and his goons had given the election to Bush, and remember it like it just happened five minutes ago.

If the pain I felt at that moment taught me anything, is that vicious people like the GOP often win through divide-and-conquer - and that we can't let ourselves do anything that plays into that.

Maryland has a law already. New Jersey and California passed such laws but they were vetoed by the then current governors. New Jersey has a new governor and California will have a new governor in 2019

The most recent 10 years should work. Someone else mentioned that tax returns should be released before the first primary. Absolutely! If there is something in the tax returns that makes a person unelectable, we should know that before the person is chosen as the candidate. If more states had these laws, we would not have Trump, and there will no doubt be many who will try to follow his pattern now.

Everything since his 2016 run is probably in cherry pie order, but a lot of us still have questions about the period of time before the 2016 election that he obviously didn't want us to see. Ten years or more should be adopted by the party for anyone choosing to run on the Dem party ticket.

... that he never coughed-up those tax returns. As he was so quick to point out, it was all Jane's fault that they weren't available.

She lost/misplaced them, and Bernie was too busy flying to Rome for a private meeting with the Pope (who never invited him) to contact the IRS for copies.

Bernie exposed a LOT more about himself in 2016 than he really meant to - and none of it good.
