So nice, so kind, so much class, and they get down to be at eye level
with all kinds of people.

Michele was on NPR about a week ago I had to turn it off because her
grace and smarts made me too sad about what is happening now in the
White House.

...republicans are mired in their own bigotry, racism, sexism, homophobia, xenophobia.

They have become apologists for rapists, murderers, women abusers, dictators, and thieves (I know I left off some).

We are so far past any realm of comparison... but, yeah, those folks have class.

As a kid in N.W. PA in a very middle class neighborhood our next door neighbor
was the county D.A. and his brother was Ray Shafer, Gov. of the state. He was
kind and decent man. He supported education, infrastructure, civil rights, unions,
the environment, the Episcopal church, and liked to play with the kids in the
neighborhood and he was a republican too.

...civically responsible, but our progressive agenda can't bear ANY corporate-centered, fundie-driven politics which bolsters conservative policies with a 'moderate' face.

We kicked several friendly-enough pols to the curb decades ago and never looked back.

One thing I look forward to is a political climate where we aren't so focused on preventing a disaster - so grateful for anyone who has a 'D' by their name, or opposing Trump - that we take the time and interest to measure the important differences between moderate and progressive policies and those who advocate them.

The GOP used to be the liberal party and the Dems were the Jim Crow party. The 'Solid South' referred to the fact that the Southern states voted en bloc for the Dems. Then LBJ pushed through the Civil Rights Act, the GOP saw their chance, swung to the Right to get the South and per force the Dems moved Left.

It was just such a sweet, sweet moment. Such class and humility from our former President.

Not in my wildest imaginings could I picture Trump connecting with kids.
