The stench and danger of the Republican Party

Corruption is nothing new to government. We've seen it at the local and state levels regularly. And also at the federal level with the Nixon administration, among others.

But we've never seen the total and absolute corruption of an entire political party from top to bottom.

Republicans have their own cable news channel. They have hate radio. They have their online propaganda sites. They have the power to gerrymander entire states. They can take the right to vote away from the "wrong" people. They can "scrub" voter's rolls. And they can even make voting results from "certain districts" disappear.

Above all, they're enabling the most dangerous, ignorant, corrupt man who has ever held control of the White House. They're allowing him, by their silence, and in some cases their active assistance, to destroy democracy.

Just voting isn't good enough. There's too much they can do to rig the outcome.

What's needed is a national shaming of anyone, anywhere, who votes for any Republican. Each and every one of us must speak up loud and clear. And even if it's a family member or "friend," they need to be shamed. They need to be exposed as aiding and abetting a political party that is turning our country into an authoritarian nightmare.

It's got to stop. Each and every one of us knows people who vote for, and thus enable Republicans. We must speak up now. We must speak up while we're still "allowed" to speak up.

Sorry if I'm asking too much. After all, there's nothing at stake except for our Constitution, and all of our freedoms.
