90+% are about "responding to Republican Acts and Republican Narratives"...
Yes, We should address those things for sure, YET too. we should also have a massive volume of threads that promote the Democratic Narratives which reflect the Democratic Platform.
How long will we be satisfied with being "on defense" as "respondent's" ???????? .... rather than being proactive promoters of the Democratic Narratives which address the elements of the Democratic Platform.
I've written post to try and promote Narratives and people gloss right over it. as if the interest is being on 'defense" more than working to also push an offense that illustrates the democratic ideals and what those ideals contain and how they represent.

(15,064 posts)That no one controls what we say other than the admins who monitor that we violate the rules. I think it is proper to nail Republicans on every single thing they do wrong. Especially the fact that they support a racist bigoted sexual predator who loves the murderer Vladimir Putin. That our country has been taken over by an authoritarian boob. You do not have to look very far to realize that we support the poor, the sick, the elderly, education, the understanding of civics. That universal healthcare is a priority. Just really do a search of the site and you'll see. General criticisms mostly fall flat because they lack detail. Carl Sagan has a great explanation of why you cannot debate a generality with another generality but detail is needed. So if you have an issue here please provide detail. Or examples.

(38,958 posts)As one who has been here a few years, I agree that posts are often as you describe. That said in the current environment I would not expect much to change. It is far easier to simply respond to what one sees as negative or offensive, than to project positive subjects.

(870 posts)I agreed in my post that things "should be addressed", but we also must promote the Democratic Narrative with vigor. That's all I'm trying to get across.
We have to find ways to gain control over public narrative, so people can think and talk about the democratic ideals of the Democratic party. One would be surprised at the mass of uninformed people, they do know they support equality and such things, but there are many people who need and an benefit from dialog substance to engage social interactive dialog, that can help attract many others to the Democratic Party and Understand better its platform. Then... we won't have so many people being susceptible to Republican Drama Spins.
There are many people outside of DU, who come to Du to read... as well as others that communicate far outside of this website. We should all be concerned about growing the party's constituency.

(38,958 posts)Always remember that theres much more than this site as means to communicate and a reflection of things going on. I too become somewhat discouraged by not only what I see as a too often negative narrative, but a feel that this is the only resource. It is sometimes informative and at other times much less so.
