Because of the opening line" I pulled into Nazareth" a lot of Biblical allegory was imparted to the song. I don't know or remember any specifics, I just loved the LP
"Music From Big Pink."
And I read several years after the album came out that the songwriter Robbie Robertson was referring to Nazareth, Pennsylvania, where Martin guitars are made.
