I read tweets this morning that, by naming Giuliani as his (Trump’s) personal lawyer, the two can tidy up their testimonies to reduce legal risk. Ordinarily this would be witness tampering, given Giuliani is probably on Mueller’s witness list and Trump is surely a suspect. But the legal waters will now be muddied by potential lawyer-client privilege. Given that Giuliani hasn’t served as a lawyer in a courtroom since 1989, this sure looks like more obstruction of justice on Trump’s part.
