2. I was still trying to figure out what he was talking about

with respect to his "racial overtones" comment. I completely missed the context of that.

3. He was trying to make the case that when Cohen flips he'll likely embillish what he

knows to get more lenient treatment. He mentioned that Rand Paul was against plea deals among others because of this. Mueller probably is just looking for corroboration of what he already knows.

They are starting to bash plea deals along with Cohen. Everything is progressing as expected. The pardon is the last card they'll play and they're laying the groundwork to justify it use.

ETA - I rewound and he did see "Prison has a racial overtone" in reference to Cohen being too weak to handle that and he'll try anything he can to bring the government over as "his sponsor".
