Rep. Eric Swalwell

@RepSwalwell
You have invested millions in Russia. Russians have invested millions in You. Your family met with them when they offered “dirt.” You invited them to hack. They hacked. You amplified what they stole. I don’t know what that is exactly. But it’s not a hoax. #TrumpRussia

He will stick to that story until he is carted off to his grave. He knows that to his beloved base, all he has to say is “I didn’t do it — no collusion.” And they so want their hero to not be guilty of selling the USA out to the Russians (or any one else who will line his pockets) that they listen only to him or others (Hannity) who sing his praises. Critical thinking (like WHY are there so many people associated with Russia also connected to tRump) eludes them. But that is because tRump sticks to his script— No collusion — Everytime he gets in front of a microphone and can interject that into the conversation. Dumb in some respects, he is a master at promoting himself even if he has to use lies and half truths. He knows his audience and wants to keep them happy.

Witch hunt. And to claim that Hillary did collude. Every time he opens his yap about it, he denies his own culpability and projects back to the Democratic side as THE real guilty ones.

All I can think of when he says it is a witch hunt is if you find witches in every place you look, there might be a reason to look for witches. I am certainly not going to search for flying pigs if my research says I need to be hunting witches. Duh...

But the dopes and rubes who still support their King will follow him to the cliff and right over the side. I just hope when Mueller releases his report, he has evidence that a blind man could see to convict tRump and a whole gang of other people tied to his coattails. Those of us who have been following this story closely are already in possession of an enormous amount of information. Let’s hope the rest of the boobs (or most of them) will open their eyes and think for one hot minute. Maybe it won’t hurt their brain too much to actually use it.

Honest people would welcome w/ open arms any investigation, mandate that the gop-controlled congress run a democrat-controlled emplaced panel to fully investigate Russian issues tRUMP is accused of (collusion, obstruction of just., etc.) under opposing party's control. This would clearly show innocence and no fear of any investigation(s).

Instead, we are seeing totally the opposite. Shut down of Congress investigations, suppression of evidence/testimony w/ NDAs (non-disclosure agreements and the like), not calling all pertinent witnesses that democrats wanted to question in full, and so forth.

Makes one wonder, doesn't it? (I'm fully convinced that tRUMP is guilty of something and that the Russians do have some blackmail videos/evidence/etc. to hold over tRUMP).

The mere possibility that tRUMP could be even blackmailed due to his business interests in Russia is alone enough to judge that something is not right, let alone a 'Pee' tape/recording/evidence. tRUMP should have been made to divest ALL property/assets in Russia and associated countries/allies of Russia.

An innocent person would welcome the most thorough investigation possible, to eliminate any appearance of guilt. Any public comments would be very simple and direct, "Let the investigation proceed without interference, I have nothing to hide". But Trump is the kind of person who has tons to hide and always has. People with such a lifestyle should stay as far away from politics as possible, because running for higher office puts one's life under a microscope. Little goes unnoticed or unreported. The man is too stupid and arrogant to realize that.

What I think is happening now is there are many more scandals than Russian related ones, scandals he thought would never be exposed, ones many people probably hadn't even been looking for. I think the raid on Cohen's office and home is driving Trump insane, because HE knows what could be revealed. Russia might be the least of his worries.

As soon as Trump says some magic word, everyone in the popular media suddenly forgets everything that happened. It's a peculiar form of amnesia. Does anyone remember Trump meeting privately with his Russian handlers (Lavrov and Kislyak) in the Oval Office back in May 2017? The one where he spilled classified information to his Russian pals? The meeting that the media of his own country were excluded from, but Russian media were allowed in with all their electronic gear?

I'm reading the book right now, and it has been carefully researched. It's quite enlightening and also very scary. These two reporters have done an excellent job but they only have probably one-tenth of the info that Mueller has. I'm quite sure the smarter Democratic Senators and Representatives have read the book.

Several books I've read in the last 6 months or so:
-Russian Roulette; The Inside Story of Putin's War on America [2018] by Michael Isikoff & David Corn (reading now)
-Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House [2018] by Michael Wolff
-Devil's Bargain; Steve Bannon, Donald Trump, and the Storming of the Presidency [2017] by Joshua Green
-The Plot to Hack America's 2016 Election [2016] by Malcolm Nance
-What Happened [2017] by Hillary Rodham Clinton
-The Making of Donald Trump [2016] by David Cay Johnston
-It's Even Worse Than You Think [2018] by David Cay Johnston

Next up:
-A Higher Loyalty; Truth, Lies, and Leadership [2018] by James Comey
-Trumpocracy; The Corruption of the American Republic [2018] by David Frum

It's great being retired! Now I have time to do a lot of reading.

Currently reading Russian Roulette and yes, it contains additional details to add to the many we’ve gleaned from other books and interviews. Like you, I have Comey’s book on my iPad and will start reading it when I finish R. Roulette.

Just thinking that after all this is out in the open and Mueller’s report is released (and please let’s find tRump in an orange jumpsuit and behind bars) the number of books that will be written. I might need a bigger bookshelf (in the Cloud) to contain them all! 😉

when my children's generation seemed so oblivious and self-absorbed in their early twenties. So unlike young people in the sixties and seventies who were very vocal and involved. When I said something to my then twenty-ish daughter about it, she said that they just expected MY generation to keep progressive change going. I explained that it doesn't work that way, one generation passes the baton to another, but they didn't want it.

Now my children are very aware and involved, thank goodness, but it seems to have come to their generation rather late. I guess at one point, they were too distracted by all the shiny objects of a very materialistic time.

Plus they have different skills than previous generations. They will be able to use the Internet and social media in very new and innovative ways. Also, from what I have seen, they aren't terribly materialistic. Each generation brings its own unique viewpoint to society. The young people I've encountered the past ten or fifteen years, seem more tolerate and open minded. Race and sexual orientation are often of no importance to them and they find it ridiculous that anyone would think it matters.
