RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel Says Good Riddance to James Comey: 'Glad to See Him' Split From GOP

Chair of the Republican National Committee Ronna McDaniel fired back at former FBI director James Comey after said he is no longer a member of the GOP, and that the “party left me.”

Comey, who was fired by President Donald Trump last year, made the comments while on the press tour for his new book, telling ABC that he believes the Republican Party has “lost their way and I can’t be associated with” — adding, “these people don’t represent anything that I believe in.”

“I will say he left the Republican Party, we did not leave him,” argued McDaniel on Fox Business this morning. “He has left. We’re glad to see him go at this point with what done with this self-serving book tour — monetizing his relationship with the president.”

She continued: “We know now how unfit he was to be FBI director with the mistruths that he’s put forward. And I think this book shows Comey’s character — which is one of salacious details, one of disclosing private conversations with the president of the United States.”

McDaniel, who has launched the LyingComey.com website against the former federal official, finished by saying that if the “party” left him, “then he’s left the American people.”

Because she, like everyone else, should be able to look at the numbers and know that only about 30% of the american people are republicans. Another 30 are democrats and 40 are centrist/independent. So, 7 out of 10 people are not republicans, making it impossible to leave the american people by leaving the R party.
