Does anybody else think Trump wanted a much larger and more provocative strike and General Mattis stopped him ?


And that's why he's returning to his pissing match with Comey ?

This seems to be a calibrated strike to appease his domestic audience while not risking a larger conflagration, form over substance, if you will.

Trump even publicly mentioned that a strike was coming.

The limited bombing gives both Putin and Trump an opportunity to show their respective countries what decisive leaders they have.

Going after Comey is more personal.
