When 14-year-old Brennan Walker missed his bus on Thursday morning and started walking to school, he thought knocking on a door to ask for directions would help. He didnt think it would nearly get him shot.
The Rochester Hills, Michigan, teenager attempted to trace the bus route on foot after he said he woke up late and missed the bus. Brennan didnt have a phone with him because his mother had taken it away as punishment, as moms of teens are wont to do, and he got lost along the way.
When he approached a house to ask for directions, he was met with a gun.
I got to the house, and I knocked on the ladys door. Then she started yelling at me and she was like, Why are you trying to break into my house? I was trying to explain to her that I was trying to get directions to Rochester High, Brennan told Fox 2 Detroit.
And she kept yelling at me. Then the guy came downstairs, and he grabbed the gun. I saw it and started to run. And thats when I heard the gunshot.
The mans shot luckily missed Brennan.

ROCHESTER HILLS, Michigan A Michigan man is accused of trying to kill a teen after the boy allegedly knocked on his door for directions.
Jeff Zeigler, 53, a former Detroit firefighter, is charged with assault with intent to murder over the incident.
Lee Kolozsvary, a long-time friend of Zeigler's says he's blown away by the allegations and thinks he was just trying to scare away the teen at the door.
During a hearing on Friday, Zeigler said the public isn't hearing the whole store.

(79,302 posts)but what in the world gives "these people" the right to pull guns and shoot at people unprovoked?
I liken this to the Trump effect.
BTW -- It's all on video (from inside the shooter's home) so there's no way they can discredit the teen.

(6,644 posts)We should stop this kind of thing in its tracks. I think we should start arresting people for threatening people with guns for just being somewhere. When I was young they told you if someone was following you and you felt threatened you should just walk up to the nearest house and walk in the front door and you would be safe and helped by the people within. Today, it might get you shot. And I am sick of people being prejudiced against black americans, some of the best people we have. Teachers, doctors, nurses, caregivers and therapists. And a high number serve in the military.
Get a clue, americans!!!!!
