(58,724 posts)A little too similar to the "this is officially the end of the Trump candidacy" takes from 2016.

(51,626 posts)The part that is in the hands of the NY investigators can't be pardoned and will probably provide the majority of crimes/evidence of their entire criminal family. The money laundering and racketeering crimes committed during his entire life will now land at his feet and this wouldn't have happened if his big, greedy ego didn't decide it wanted to try to capitalize on the tRump brand and make it more wealthy and well known by running for prez. His ego and greed are what made him rise and now will be the cause of his fall. It will be a very rough landing I hope.

(33,643 posts)When Dump spoke to him via speakerphone are literally what clinched the decision to run in Dump's tiny brain.
Talking about when he was in Moscow for the Miss Universe thing.
You know, where he (allegedly) made certain Ms. Russia won the contest.

Yup, no doubt the fix was in.
What a nightmare they have imposed upon us.

we may be the ones laughing in the end, because I think he never intended to win and then he did and had to pretend to be a president. Hasn't done a very convincing job.
He is Icarus, flying too close to the sun, melting the wax on his wings, and he is going to fall.
He ran because his enormous-sized ego compels him to wring every last drop of attention that's out there and take it all home for himself. He cannot stand to share even one fraction of a ray of the spotlight. He never thought in a million years he'd win and that he and his family would ever have to pay the price for their many crimes. Trump probably doesn't even think of them as crimes because this is how he's operated all his life.
He flaunts using the office to make money (most recently, Ivanka exempt from Chinese tariffs, sons burning up $70,000 in security costs to us on a trip to Dubai).
He doesn't have even a smidgen of ethics. He cannot operate for even a single day without some outrageous affront.
He will do his own self in. He is practically begging to be prosecuted.

(979 posts)Charges arising out of the SDNY can indeed be pardoned by the President.
The Velveteen Ocelot
(115,829 posts)unless Trump appoints some stooge as AG who will try to shut down the prosecutor in SDNY. But if Schneiderman, the NYAG, gets involved and prosecutes any of them under state law (and I have no doubt that will happen, if it isn't happening already), those crimes can't be pardoned.

(22,048 posts)Robert Mueller's investigation has several facets to it: Obstruction, collusion, money laundering and more. These cases are all going to be complicated and intertwined but they all point directly at Trump.
Now, the Attorney General for the Southern District of NY has the Michael Cohen cases which obviously include Trump. That's going to make Trump crazy because Cohen must know so much dirt about Trump.
Then there's the Stormy Daniels lawsuit. In spite of Trump's disavowal, he's caught up in that case. Add to that Karen McDougal's and Summer Zervos's cases and Trump's got his hands full, (pardon the pun).
Trump has violated the Emoluments Clause of the U.S. Constitution and there is movement in Congress to address that.
These are just off the top of my head and I'm sure there are many more legals troubles for Trump.
He's in for a world of hurt from many directions. It's frightening to see such a small, cowardly man with such incredible powers available to be in such a cornered and threatened position. How he reacts may very well determine the future of our country and perhaps, the world.

(16,937 posts)You do not need to ask for the pun to be pardoned - it was a good one!!!! Besides, we're not talking about pardons around here at this point!

(19,204 posts)from Little Donnie Jr, Erik, Ivanka or Jared lately. It's almost as if they're trying to stay out of the limelight! but that can't be true, because it's just not in the nature of a Trump to avoid the limelight.
I hope Ivanka is designing (or stealing a design from someone else, more likely) some really chic prison uniforms for the entire family. Some in a nice 'Peach', or perhaps 'Salmon'.

(19,204 posts)Amazing, isn't it? Our government has no real diplomats to send abroad. We have an air-headed, part-time shoe designer, with the intelligence of a baggie full of wet hair, making decisions that will have long lasting effects between the two countries. Oh, and she's wearing a spring house dress more appropriate for a PTA meeting, or some shopping at Target.
This is the most fucked-up administration that anyone could ever imagine in a seven day methamphetamine/alcohol binge.

(16,937 posts)However, I doubt that she's really making any "executive" decisions regarding policy - she's just looking for more people/countries to give the family corporations more breaks!

(7,300 posts)The drinking part was surprisingly easy while the meth part predictably wasn't. The "plus" side to those 3 or 4 day binges was having the most meticulously groomed moustache in the greater KC metropolitan area! Lol

(16,937 posts)There has to be a long trail of pockets that have been stuffed along the way to have gotten us to this point. Perhaps a case of "no problem, someone else will take care of it................"
