Syria makes a chemical attack.

Trump blusters.

An extremely limited retaliation is made.

Syria had time to move anything of value out of harms way after Trump warned them via twitter well in advance.

The Syrian response was "remarkaby ineffective". (Of course, American casualties or lack of success make Putin's puppet look bad, so no serious defense was mounted.)

His idiot base are pleased with their "strongman".

4. Generally don't buy into this type of conspiracy but this one makes a lot of sense

1) Putin/Trump arrange for the chemical attacks

2) Trump gets to walk back his "we are out of Syria" debacle that had the Joint Chiefs in full revolt

3) Trump gets to wipe the Cohen debacle off the front page for a couple of days

4) Putin gets to wipe off the damaging department store fire off the news cycle

5) Oil prices go up after a Syrian strike which really helps Putin.

Now to do this you would, obviously, have to have a back channel in place.
