The massive support this poll shows SCM has makes me very glad and not so worried at all that Fox is having any significant effect. Mueller is untouchable with this level of support. 69%! No need for me to worry quite so much what Twitler does to try to undermine SCM now.

The public by a broad 69-25 percent supports Mueller’s initial thrust, to investigate possible collusion between Trump campaign officials and Russian government attempts to influence the 2016 election. Support extends to half of conservatives and more than four in 10 Republicans.

Backing for Mueller’s work goes further: Americans by 2-1, 64-32 percent, also support his investigating Trump’s business activities. And by 58-35 percent, a 23-point margin, they support investigators’ latest apparent direction, looking at allegations that Trump’s associates paid hush money to women who say they had affairs with him.

7. I don't think all of the millions who voted for him think he's doing the right thing.

There are millions who didn't like Trump but voted for him for pragmatic reasons like naming Supreme Court justices. Plus I've heard, beyond reason, that there were those who voted for Trump who voted for Obama.
Trump may have a solid 35-40% base of the electorate, but the rest is soft in comparison.
That solid base will follow and support Trump unquestioningly but the rest have a point where their support starts to fall away.

5. I know most of us

Are getting pretty demoralized with the constant drum beat of repetition of cable news breathlessly ranting about Trump’s latest tweet or threats.

Spring is here,the wheels of Justice grind slowly, rats are leaving the ship, decent Republicans are rebelling, even running ads against Trump.

For me, I turned off the TV, went out in the fresh Spring air, enjoyed the sudden popping up of flowers, the smell of fresh mowed grass, sat on my new Sun Deck, cleared my mind.

When the FBI makes public announcements of criminal activity and indictments of present and former people in the Trumpy circle, most people still listen because what's right and wrong has a familiar and life-long ring of truth. The best and most expensive propaganda network that history as ever seen cannot presently overcome this core human value.

Now, that doesn't mean the fascism cannot gain a strong foothold in any democratic republic. Bullies will be bullies, and they can win in the short run while they cause harm to millions. Acting immorally doesn't always place them in jeopardy, but fascist bullies make for very poor economists. That's what brings on their demise.
