I guess that NDA, and frankly *all* Trump NDAs, can be safely ignored. Doesn't seem like he's gonna be filing any lawsuits against anyone...forever.Wait, @MichaelAvenatti is telling @NicolleDWallace on @MSNBC that Michael Cohen will *plead the Fifth* in connection with the Stormy Daniels case?!?

(4,407 posts)Trump didn't sign the Agreement, claims no knowledge of it. Cohen can't testify there was a meeting of the minds between Trump and Clifford. I think Avinatti should dismiss the declaratory action and simply proceed on the defamation claim. By the time anyone can come forward to try and enforce the NDA, Cohen will be in jail and Trump will not have enough reason left to enforce any NDA.

(12,344 posts)Isn't that like walking into a police station and saying "arrest me?"

(14,565 posts)I've warned about that since he was elected. None of the old standards apply. This guy has been a life long cheat who knows how to protect himself. The opposition always gets close and knows damn well Trump lied/cheated but is unable to prove it to satisfy the law.
No reason to expect anything different this time, especially with all the options available to a president, and with Trump more than willing to bend, stretch and invent new methods of protection.

(37,748 posts)Trump hired Manafort, Gates, Papadapolous, and Flynn who have all agreed to plea deals.
I'd kinda call that caving.

(22,025 posts)Which implies Cohen would plead the fifth. That was my understanding

(62,444 posts)There are still several pending motions to be heard May 17.
But this is as good a time as any to avoid mentioning that Avenatti got spanked by Judge Otero today on the meet and confer requirements before filing a motion.
