Political Wire (Paywall):It may not be a coincidence that just 30 minutes after the video was released, Wikileaks began publishing hacked emails from Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta.
Podesta told MSNBC last month that he is convinced the two events are linked:
If special counsel Robert Mueller can prove that Cohen contacted Wikileaks about the hacked emails, it would be one step closer to proving the Trump campaign colluded with the Russians.

“Oh, absolutely. And I think it was done to try to divert attention, at least to give the anchors on Fox News something to talk about other than the ‘Access Hollywood’ tape. And I think that the question is whether there was coordination between the campaign and Wikileaks, at least through intermediaries, about the timing of the release.”
