Obama's election also brought racism out against "different" peoples like I haven't experienced since the 50's and 60's. So yes we did show SOME intelligence in electing him and I'm beginning to think that election was a surprise to all the "good, real americans" and that's changed since the racists got energized by the 'birther' mess and other racially tinged allegations. For Romney, his recent travels have only eradicated any illusions that he might just somehow, despite all known flaws, make a decent president.

If nothing else, the president is an actor on the world stage.
