Federal prosecutors in New York asked the Trump Organization, President Donald Trumps flagship company, for records relating to a $130,000 payment to a former adult-film actress as part of an investigation into Mr. Trumps personal lawyer, according to a person familiar with the matter.
The request came in connection with raids by the Federal Bureau of Investigation Monday on the office, hotel room and home of Trump lawyer Michael Cohen. Mr. Cohen made the payment to Stephanie Clifford, a former porn star known professionally as Stormy Daniels, less than two weeks before the 2016 presidential election.

(21,849 posts)Or is this a trap set for the Trump Organization because prosecutors already have the information and want to see if the organization will lie?

(22,037 posts)It will be very interesting to see what Trump turns over. And make no mistake, Trump is his company. There isn't any way for him to hide behind one of his shell companies.
Accordingly, Trump has said he didn't know about the Stormy Daniels payment and NDA. If there is any paperwork or emails, etc. at the Trump Organization, I think it would be evidence of Trump's mendacity.
These jumos are going down. (I love Steve Bannon's word! The man's an ass but it's a great word to describe the Trump circus.)

(22,037 posts)It wouldn't matter, would it? Most everything would have been electronic files and you know those are forever.
