Donnie's such a cartoon character, or would be if this all weren't so serious.

But really, he is so completely tone deaf. At every point in the investigation, virtually everything he says makes any reasonable person think, "wow, that's exactly what a guilty person would think -- but probably not be stupid enough to say it in public!"
