Why I think Trump will fire Mueller.

Trump is a bully. That is who he is. Mueller has gone after Trump's friend, so Trump goes after Mueller. That is what a bully does. I hope I am wrong. But everything in Trump's character says to me, that he will fire Mueller. Perhaps, they will calm him down, and then Trump will step back and let things happen. If so, then I am wrong, and that is ok. But, we will see how things play out. I hope I have enough ...

he is winning this "game". He has never faced any consequences for any action he's taken. So, he believes himself to be untouchable and the smartest guy in every room.

He might just leave Mueller there, assuming that it doesn't matter, since he can't even imagine anything going against him except maybe paying a fine.

But I have a feeling he thinks it might be more serious than that this time.

The evidence has been spread around. The raid on Cohen's office/home/hotel was organized by the SDNY office of the DOJ, not Mueller.

Trump is being methodically isolated. When this saga is over, we'll get the whole story and it will be awesome to see how Bobby 3-Sticks organized Trump's downfall.

6. trump can't fire Mueller directly....only the guy that Mueller reports to can.

rubenstein....who reports to Sessions.

so sessions would need to go and a new Attorney General is confirmed by the Senate who then fires Rubenstein and then the replacement (not sure if that needs senate conformation) fires Mueller.

so this anit a quick process and all sorts of hurdles will be in place as senate republicans will have to decide on what side they stand

the constitutional crisis is almost upon us.

Are you sure five Supreme Justices will see it that way? Yo cant get 67 Senators to do the right then (not to mention 218 House members).

13. takes 1 senator to filibuster, takes 41 to stop most anything in the senate

takes 51 to approve a confirmation

we are a longs way from impeachment if ever. The issue will be stopping Mueller's investigation by firing him

a whole series of events must happen first. Its not as simple as a trump text to Mueller saying he is fired

14. I would think a Saturday Night Massacre

would accelerate that timeline. Depending on what is in the Cohen files, a vigorous response of pardons and firings might be the default position for Trump. He is still President with a compliant Congress.

15. trump could only fire Sessions....but a new AG would need to be confirmed as I state

this is not a quick process and the congress been compliant BUT that would change dramatically...its the GOP's worse nightmare for sure and no wonder why we are enjoying this.

away with a Ford Nixon level pardon of all the investigated parties? A wide ranging pardon covering all federal crimes?

This hearkens back to what an abomination the Ford pardon was. In hindsight that pardon should have been challenged.

It would have to be Sessions or Rosenstein to fire Mueller, the President can't do it directly. Or, tRump could do a Saturday Night Massacre: fire Sessions and Rosenstein, and then find someone who will fire Mueller.

This raid wasn't part of the Mueller investigation. Whatever he found was turned over to the Trump-appointed US Attorney, and HE decided to go after Cohen.

17. The point that you make is excellent...This in reality a "collection of information"
Tue Apr 10, 2018, 02:41 PM

More information to prove Cohen is a criminal the better. As info is collected on Cohen, more will be collected on Trump. More information the better. At some point, not far away, 75 percent of people in this country will know and believe that Trump is a crook..They will be totally convinced.

About the other 25 percent. I believe they will never be convinced that Trump is a "crook" Those are the "true believers" They will always believe it is a "witch hunt." That will be true even if the proof that Trump is a crook is clear and undeniable. That is who that 25% is..
