"We can't have this administration dictating to us our coverage just because they don't like

what we print about them in our newspaper".

Ben Bradlee Washington Post, 1971.

I am watching The Post. And my eyes are full of tears remembering what it was like then, and what it is like now.
It should not have come even this far.
those of us who are still here, with our memories of that history, now 50 some years ago, won't be around much longer to have our voices heard. It is so easy now to distort and erase history, we are watching that happen every day.

Which is why the struggle for good happens again and again and again every generation.
Today we have such a massive attack on education and the ability to read and understand our history, that I am fearful for the first time in my life.

Please raise your children well.
