Not exactly a 'loophole. Attorney-client privilege does not extend to, or cover, the concealing of crimes.

And such activities are not protected by privilege. So if Cohen did something illegal for Trump, he has the choice of going to jail himself for a long time, or cutting a deal and turning on Trump for a lighter sentence.

He's probably well on the way to being disbarred. Perhaps he can avoid a lengthy prison term. There has to be some serious culpability for a judge to issue a warrant on a law office.
