http://www.newsweek.com/dennis-kucinich-ohio-governor-trump-russia-865067?utm_source=Twitter&utm_campaign=NewsweekTwitter&utm_medium=SocialAfter leaving office, in 2014, he condemned the U.S. sanctions on Russia for its interference in Ukraine. We need to stop playing Cold War games, he told a Russian state-operated news agency. Then following the 2016 election, after the Barack Obama administration said Russia meddled, he posted on Facebook, Enough of the BS about #Russia stealing the election. This is CIA & State Dept propaganda trying to legitimatize their increased hostilities towards Russia.
After Trump took office, Kucinich continued giving interviews that seemed in line with what the presidentwhose inauguration speech Kucinich praisedwas saying. In one interview, he said Obama should have fired then-FBI Director James Comey for Comeys disclosure about new evidence in the completed investigation of Hillary Clintons emails, and called it astonishing that Comey was still leading the bureau and its Russia probe. (Trump fired Comey a month later.) In the same interview, he said the Russia issue is hurting the Democratic party, and that the Democrats are losing valuable time trying to blame the 2016 election results on Moscow.
In a February 2017 opinion piece published by Newsweek, he defended Michael Flynn, who had just resigned as Trumps national security adviser and would later plead guilty to lying to federal agents. Last July, he said on Fox News that the meeting between Trump campaign officials and a Kremlin-linked lawyer is a bunch of nothing, and that the Russia investigations are going nowhere. He claimed in multiple TV appearances that U.S. intelligences agencies are trying to take down Trump. In one spot, when Fox News host Sean Hannity asked if President Trump is under attack by the deep state intelligence community, Kucinich responded: I believe that.
Kucinich has also given interviews to Russian outlets that U.S. intelligence believes were part of Russias meddling operation. If you want to know who influenced the U.S. election, he told Russias Sputnik in an article published last March, look no further than the FBI.
Kucinich has been endorsed by Our Revolution.

(102,282 posts)He offered a strong voice during GWBush* years, especially on the WMD lies and war in Iraq, but in the years since? Surely most have realized a very different Kucinich? Just as Susan Sarandon (and many others) were ONCE long ago, reasonable voices for Democratic policies... Time has made a big difference... and not a "good" one.

Of course, if Kucinich wins the primary, Mike DeWine will kick his sorry butt in November - it will be a bloodbath.
An example of why, even on a critical issues like gun reform, we can't always be all about one issue. If this continues, Ohio will spend the next 4-8 years with DeWine as governor - a disaster for the state and the country.
Wake up, Democrats! Stop being stupid!

(16,423 posts)What you read here in the OP is perfectly normal Anti-Americanism of the Far Left. You see that in Europe on any given day if you know where to hang out.
The argument is basically that Russia cannot possibly be evil because everybody knows that the US is evil.
And the most evil part of the US is the Deep State.
That's why these liberal Leftists can see Trump's capitalism and racism and still love him. Being against the Deep State absolves you of all of your sins.
You can't prove the existence of the Deep State? Of course not, you silly! What do you think why it's called the Deep State? The failure to prove the Deep State is in itself proof of its existence!

(7,432 posts)I wonder what the DU policy is for criticizing a Democrat, given that Kucinich is one and has been one for decades.
Be careful, DUers. Being critical of a Democrat on these discussion groups could get you censured. There are those among us who throw snowflakey hissy fits when comments bump up against the walls of prescribed notions of Democratic Party purity. So... is criticism of Kucinich permissible, but not permissible with other Democratic notables?
Oh. And just for the record, Kucinich has a lot of explaining to do.

If Kucinich won the primary, criticism of him that isn't "constructive" becomes harder. Unless an explicit exception is made by the admins.

I know I've been critical of Obama and Clinton at times, but I've yet to have any users or admins say I was crossing some line. I think it's all in how you approach your criticisms and how you choose your words.

(10,829 posts)Horseshoe theory, where the Far Left and Far Right join hands and walk into the sunset, singing their battle songs against the Deep State. This is Intercept territory where the US is always the boogie man and apologies and excuses are made for Putin's Mafia State because . . . well just because it isn't the United States of America, the purveyor of all things bad in the world.
I guarantee you, the GOP will be thrilled if Kucinich wins and are probably funding his effort through a back door.
Wake up, Ohio. We've all seen this scenario play out before.
Btw, I understand there's a former Republican, now claiming he's a Dem, running as a Green who will try to split the vote in Montana against Tester in November.
Coincidence? I think not.

(47,468 posts)there was something not quite right about Kucinich, but I would have never thought he would support someone like Trump or defend Russia. People used to consider him a pretty far left Democrat, but apparently he is a political chameleon. I think he is more about Kucinich, than any party or ideology. OR he's just plain nutty.
Pat Set said:

Kucinich is clearly gone off the rails or was always an opportunist who hid his agenda very well. Political chameleon appears to be an apt description. Between Kucinich and this Green candidate in Montana, I suspect we'll be seeing more of this during the primary season. Sleight of hand, anyone?
We've seen this movie before.
