BY JOE CONCHA - 04/09/18 09:27 AM EDT
Former GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin said Sunday that she would run for higher office again in a heartbeat. Palin made the remark to new Fox News host Mark Levin after he asked her if she was glad that she ran for vice president in 2008 on Sen. John McCains (R-Ariz.) ticket.
Oh yes, I would do it again in a heartbeat, replied Palin. I will push back harder on some of those who were trying to mold me into something that I was not during the campaign. I wouldve pushed back and gotten more truth out there, but yes. The idea that aides to McCain restrained Palin during the campaign was a major subject of the book and film about the 2008 campaign, Game Change.
Palin told Levin that she was surprised the McCain campaign didnt offer more of a defense for her against what she described as unfair treatment by the media.
I was surprised because in Alaska, as I mentioned, my ratings were very high, things were going well in the court of public opinion, so I was mostly shocked that the campaign itself didnt defend against a lot of the lies that were being spewed during the campaign, she said. And then when that narrative was created, they created a character of Sarah Palin and the Palin family.

(2,396 posts)I also vaguely remember there might have been some dog whistle, race baiting stuff even worse than what she did.
I was a moderate Republican at the time ( ) but her nasty speech at the GOP Convention forever changed me.
I think the young people call that "woke". (I'm on the other side of the Generation Gap here ).

(24,412 posts)The convention speech was a nasty piece of work. I was never a Republican, nor was I planning to vote for McCain anyway but, as a Social Worker, her mean-spirited dismissal of "community organizers" really set a horrible tone for McCain/GOP's campaign that year. Since the campaign, she was as nasty as she wanted to be and we had to put up with her lowly attacks on President Obama for years past her expiration date.

(2,050 posts)Well back in the early 90's he was.
I was at JD's house taking a communal steam bath with the local men's club, drink beer, shoot the shit, sweat your brains out.
After the steam I went into the house to meet Todd, his brother, a snow machine racer of note.
He brought his wife Sarah along, I was introduced, her nose was so far in the air and she had an attitude, I was just a peon its seemed
I didn't care for her then, about a thousand times more now.
Airhead of massive proportions.
And a full blown nut job
