Last week, Bloomberg News told the story of three families without health insurance. We also asked readers to share their own stories as we spend the next year following people who are risking it.
The response was overwhelming. More than 3,000 people from across the U.S. filled out our questionnaire and shared their challenges, and how their decisions have affected their health and financial well-being.
Some cant afford to insure their children. Others are seeking cheaper care abroad. Some older adults are counting down the years until they qualify for Medicare.

Republicans who say they follow the teachings of Jesus Christ are NOT what they seem to be when it comes to their votes and opposition to Healthcare for all.

(34,661 posts)Some one who we have knows for several years told us about what was happening in her own family. We had zero clue this was going on. Family Income and qualification for Health Insurance in the state of Utah leaves them in a blind spot. With deductibles that are 5k per person rather than per family unit, well that is massive with there Income.
With two of their family now needed Health Care for issues, they are strapped to know end. How many could afford a 10k hit? I do know there are tons more people in this same trap.

(21,155 posts)She was 75 and had been feeling poorly for weeks. Bedridden. She started bleeding vaginally and her husband finally took her to the emergency. She had ovarian cancer and died the next day. My friend never had a chance to say goodbye to her Mother.
And the Mother was a full blown twitler supporter who hated Obamacare.
