Lull everyone into a false state of....no, that can't be it. No one with at least half a brain feels no security at all, just panic.

Pull out aversion of Agent Orange that's actually intelligent, reasoned and well spoken who will spring all kinds of suprises in policy and strategy that will catch everyone off-guard. Seems a tad unlikely.

Apart from many other reasons, of course.

She was an economist, political scientist and a policy adviser to the Canadian govt....and one of the most astute political observers I ever met. She called the Reagan playbook and predicted the various twists and turns to the eventual outcome. Masters from Oxford on 100% scholarship.

This shitstorm might nonplus even her....but I wish I could hear for myself.
