also to intrigue and plot, and some others. I never understood the argument, just assumed they would list the applicable parts of the legal codes, using accepted judicial language, when the time came.

defined by the wording of the law, regardless of what terms the media are using.

The fact, for instance, that the constitution reserves the word treason for rather specific situations does not mean we have no way of charging traitors with betraying their country in other situations. We do, of course, using other words that also have specific meanings under the law.

... that we're using the word "treason."

Because the legal definition of treason is tightly worded and difficult to prove, the Dept. of Justice has avoided using it. So it's collusion to them, it's treason to the rest of us.

To the GOP it's "same thing, different day."

They could call it Sally. It can still be a crime, depending on circumstances...and there is not positive connotation to "collusion." Is there?.

Rosenstein wrote a letter to Mueller in Aug 2017, telling Mueller what crimes fell under the scope of his investigation. One of the specific points was that Mueller authorized to investigation collusion with Russia. I posted that a few days ago.

So I noticed, Mr. Toobin. You are right that it didn’t get much coverage. But that’s because it’s not that important, I think. Mueller seems likely to charge conspiracy to defraud the US. All that really matters is which statute is violated.
