(115,829 posts)He was only 33 when he died, so he probably wouldn't have needed reading glasses, and anyhow even if he was nearsighted he could have fixed that, being God and all. He actually restored some blind guy's sight, so couldn't he have fixed his own myopia so he didn't have to wear glasses?
and at that whole galactically stupid thing.

(5,101 posts)Thank you, I was totally wrong.
I thought Jesus was born in the American embassy in Jerusalem.
ProudLib72
(17,984 posts)That's a common misunderstanding. No, Jesus was born in Bethlehem. However, when he was twelve or thirteen, his family went up to Jerusalem for Passover. At that time, Jesus wandered by himself into the American embassy to ask about becoming a citizen. If you read the gospels (I think Luke covers this part), Pilate was in charge of the embassy. He asked Jesus a bunch of questions about American civics and was surprised when Jesus knew all the answers. Pilate invited him to come back when he was older. When Jesus did come back, there was a lottery to win a green card. Unfortunately, this guy Barabbas won it instead of Jesus (even though Pilate tried to persuade everyone that Jesus deserved it more). Anyway, after a lot of discussion and legal wrangling, Jesus finally got invited to come to Rome, GA and work for the GOP. It was during this time that he became a naturalized citizen. That's what is meant when people say "He is risen"; it means he has risen to the rank of American citizen.

I said Jerusalem, because Trump moved (or will move) the US Embassy there.
Is there a US Consulate in Bethlehem ? It's also a US territory...

(17,216 posts)It's just a matter of perspective. Those white supremacists who believe that they, poor babies, are the group who are really discriminated against, think he is a god for "telling it like it is" and not being "politically correct." And in this, they are right. They're just wrong in equating this with civil rights.

(45,516 posts)bravely defending the good WASPy Germanic peoples from Jewish oppression. Trump is bravely standing up and giving voice to the forgotten rural and rust belt people brutally oppressed by diversity and social progress in other areas. They just want to return to a time when brown people knew our place, outside.
Economic issues were closely intertwined with racial issues during the civil rights movement. Segregation and other policies were affecting people's ability to gain equal education and jobs and housing. MLK and other civil rights leaders pressured the Democrats of the time to include immigration reform to diversify the type of people who immigrate. Before it was strongly favoring Europeans.
Just as Trump feels that Obama isn't American. Many racists feel that brown people aren't American even if we're third generation like me. The worst immigrants were born in America, which is why Trump wants to repeal the 14th amendment and deport us.

(13 posts)Jacob Wohl is not a real person - he's a product of Russian troll farmers. I've reported "him" many times to Twitter and they do nothing. If you watch responses to tRump's tweets, the vast majority of "support" is coming from fake Russian accounts posing as Americans. It's truly disgusting but makes sense that they prop up their puppet as best they can...

(2,770 posts)at 4 in the afternoon so that they were all easily identifiable. The Trump administration has done something like that for the absolute worst of the republican voters in the form of political Tourettes. This guy up here is a prime example of the sort of yahoo nonsense coming from them.
They can't keep themselves from fawning over trump, factless and ass backward arguments/theories/conspiracies sycophantic behaviors and general bigotry/hatred directed towards anybody not like themselves. I imagine once trump, the gop and the rest of their garbage is hauled out of Washington they'll all quiet down and play at pretending they didn't vote for trump.
