Crowd Greets Romney With Chants Of 'Obama!, Obama!' During Poland Visit

Warsaw (dpa) - US presidential hopeful Mitt Romney met on Monday with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk on the last stop of a foreign tour aimed to showcase his foreign policy.

The Republican hopeful arrived in Gdansk, northern Poland, for a two-day visit he hopes will attract Polish-American voters. The visit was also aimed at showing Romney would be tougher on Russia than his opponent President Barack Obama, who is running for a second term.

Romney arrived at Gdansk‘s city hall and briefly chatted with locals before meeting with Tusk. A group was heard chanting, "Obama! Obama!" as Romney later made his way to his next meeting with anti-communist icon Lech Walesa, the former leader of Solidarity.

report: http://en.europeonline-magazine.eu/lead-pro-obama-crowd-greets-romney-during-poland-trip_225770.html

from Greta Van Sustern's blog:

Latest pool report – Gdansk, Poland

Romney left his first meeting and walked down the street to his second, with former Polish President Lech Walesa. Many people still outside. The street is lined with cafes with outdoor tables and umbrellas. We did NOT get a shot of Romney’s walk over, we were held back until he had left.

++We could not see Romney as we were exiting the old town hall, but we do have a little tape of people shouting “Obama! Obama!”

more from Van Susteren: http://gretawire.foxnewsinsider.com/2012/07/30/notes-from-travel-with-gov-romney-in-poland/

There has been no press access to Governor Romney since we landed in Poland. We (press) are in a holding pattern (I can’t help but feel a bit like the press is a modified petting zoo since we are trapped in a bus while Polish citizens take pictures of us.) Under the headline “Governor Romney won’t like this” we saw a big sign in the crowd for Rep Ron Paul.

from ABC News: http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2012/07/mitts-travelogue-meeting-lech-walesa-and-greetings-from-polich-ron-paul-supporters/

Romney Greeted by Ron Paul Supporters – 03:35 p.m. CET (8:35 a.m. EST) - Mitt and Ann Romney were greeted upon arriving for a meeting with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk by hundreds of people lining the narrow streets here, some of whom held signs for another U.S. presidential candidate, Ron Paul.

The large sign read “Polish Choice – R. Paul” with a photograph of Paul.

Specifically the scene where the general (Carrol O'Conner) was on the way to the town with the bank and to buy time they told the town folk it was de Gaulle coming after "Eisenhower" didn't work.

My favorite line? When the German tank is guarding the bank, Crapgame suggests Kelly "make a deal" with the tank driver. "What kind of deal?" "You know, a DEAL deal, maybe he's a Republican."

One more: As he's driving off in the jeep after telling Len Lesser's character what a good job he was doing building the bridge, his voice trailing off, the general says "I got a medal here in the jeep for ya."

Len Lesser played Uncle Leo on Seinfeld. I saw this movie 10 times before I recognized him.

Romney's an idiot to try and make foreign policy an issue in this campaign. Obama's has been a rousing success and he doesn't have a clue of how to work with foreign governments. Poland is just the third stop in Romney's "Making it Obvious Why Not" world tour.

Romney kept the press at bay -- in what FOX's Van Susteren described as a 'petting zoo' -- so she reported what she heard and saw, which was a large poster supporting Ron Paul and the shouts she could hear from the crowd for President Obama. Funny how that worked out.

It's the Congress of the new right. Not exactly kindred spirits with liberals.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Congress_of_the_New_Right

The Congress of the New Right's program includes:

Reduced government spending, tax cuts and a flexible labor market,
Minimal government bureaucracy,
Protection of property rights,
Waiver of income tax collection,
Promotion of privatization and reprivatization,
Demonopolization,
Decentralization,
Deregulation,
Decommunization and Lustration,
It postulates a return of capital punishment for murderers and other dangerous criminals,
Liberalization of existing gun law and introduction of right to keep and bear arms,
Legalization of all drugs, including toxic ones.
Private health care and voluntary education,
The party is pro-life and thus opposes euthanasia and abortion,
It is against same-sex marriage and LGBT adoption,
Support for NATO and participation in free trade organizations,
Strong opposition to European Union, Left-wing politics and Socialism.

The party's main priorities are lower taxes and reducing the national debt.

In the 2011 Parliamentary election the party got 151,837 votes or 1.06% of the votes.

Mitt Romney's ONLY objective of these trips is to fundraise. That's it! All that other stuff is just window dressing. How he can get away with it is absolutely baffling. The Right Wing and complicit Corporate Media spent years dogging Al Gore for the Tibetan monks...a charge that turned up NOTHING.

Mitt Romney has pretty much admitted that there are fundraisers happening in these three cities that he has visited. The Corporate Media has not excoriated him. It has stood by while Romney continues to buy this election!!!
