He had theatrically "gone off script," spouting off his usual bullshit (instead of tax policy) and was feeling good so he thought he'd take a victory lap through the press section of Air Force One and let them bask in his presence while praising him for "throwing out the script" and being such a great "showman."
Of course all this only took place in his head, because instead of bowing down and saying "we're not worthy," the press corps asked him about the money paid to Stormy Daniels.
The adrenaline and ego-blood was still surging through his veins, he felt he was in control, so Donald Trump did what he always does, and does best: he lied.
He lied and he lied again and at the end of it he didn't realize the damage he had done, to his legal case, to his attorney, to his cover story, and it didn't matter.
If he had to choose in doing it over, he would do it again and again and again.
Because Melania watches TV too.

(14,547 posts)The judges hearing this in his suit against Clifford for violating the NDA and Clifford's suit against him to annul the NDA are also hearing this. Previously trump denied the affair through Huckabee. Last week, Cohen's attorney said that Trump didn't know about the agreement. trump did not sign the agreement. Now trump says he knew nothing of the agreement.
Which I believe is partially true. I think trump got wind of Clifford shopping her story and told Cohen to handle it. He did and trump never knew the details of how he did.
