During the presentation ceremony he spoke about living in James Blake's home in Florida for months when he moved there, and that James was at his wedding (James is the tournament director - same James Blake the NY cops nearly shot during the US open a few years ago). He couldn't believe that his good friend was now running the tournament.
Seems Isner is more complicated than I thought for he is clearly not a racist.

The white male American tennis players are Trump supporters. I suppose that it has to do with their being in the white male demographic, which as a group leans Trump, and some are in the higher income ranges and don’t want to pay tax. Several are from the southern states that also lean Republican. Obviously many individual exceptions exist and some of them are on DU, but I’m talking about group tendencies.

What’s sad in John’s case is that he seems like a nice guy and his father ran for office as a Dem several years ago.

but I did read that Isner was a Trump supporter. Of course many won't admit to that these days.
