His mean spirited action against a dedicated public servant has boomeranged, big time.

5. McCabe should win his case pretty easily

I don't think he'll need any more money, he'll get his pension that he deserves.

If any funds remain unused, they should go to the DCCC but I don't believe McCabe would do that.
After all, he is still a Republican. He's not destitute and neither is his family.

On the page it states that all funds will be used for his legal fees and anything left over will go to a charity of his choice. No funds will go towards his pension. I would love for the funds to go to the DCCC because I am sure that a large majority of the funds are coming from Democrats, but that's not going to happen.

7. Didn't BLOTUS call McCabe's wife a "loser"? Man, I can't even express my loathing for DJT.

This looks like a real nice family to me. I feel so bad for his kids. I hope his defense fund goes through the roof!

Mr. McCabe, fight these bastards and have the last laugh when the Piece-of-Shit in the White House is impeached and penniless.

9. The $250,000 was a revised goal after they blew past the first amount

I am not sure what the first target was.

I hope McCabe derives some consolation from this impressive public response. Pretty lousy to have worked your way from the bottom to acting director of the FBI only to be fired hours before you are to receive what appears to be a well earned pension.

The act of doing this to McCabe and this result underscores how stupid and morally corrupt the Trump administration is.

10. The first goal was $150,000.

They reached it in less than three hours, before the effort had really even gained much publicity. Once it did...wow! They upped it to $250,000, and the rest is history.

He has stated that this money will be used only for his legal defense, and that he will still fight for his pension using his own resources. What's left from the gofundme effort will be donated to "charities of McCabe's choosing."

The key is sending a stern message to Trump and his cohorts that their illegal acts will be fought. In fact, though the fund in money, it has LITTLE to do with money.

Rush Limbaugh? who seems to be the spreader of this false narrative.

His salary was between 151 -161k. based on his promotions between 2015-17.

In 2015, McCabe received roughly $151,200, after reaching the higher ES Level 4 salary in July after being named associate deputy director. McCabe received $160,300 in 2016, after James Comey appointed him deputy director. In 2017, remaining in an ES Level 4 position, he received $161,900.

By multiplying McCabe's highest average salary of $157,800 by 1.7 percent, for each of his first 20 years of service, he receives an annual $53,652 pension. He receives an additional 1 percent for one year of service, having served since 1996. This gives McCabe an additional $1,578, giving him an annual pension of $55,230. thats w/o social security.

The Office of Personnel Management has set the average life span of law enforcement officers at nearly 83 years. The lifetime value of McCabe's pension is estimated at $1.8 million.

McCabe is 49, though he likely had enough paid vacation days saved up to step down before his 50th birthday, the age requirement for those taking early retirement with at least 20 years of service.

You'd think his retirement wouldn't matter if he were so we'll off. Besides this isn't just about money.
