Are republicans standing down on Trump because his extreme presidency

will make Marco Rubio, or whoever is else is on the GOP slate, look like more reasonable people or moderates in 2020? That Trump expands Presidential norms by destroying them, rebranding old time conservatives in the process?

They are standing down because the base is solidly on 45's side. Without him, they have no support. LonePirate Mar 2018 #1

They're standing down because they're afraid of the Frankenstein monster that is their base. They've gerrymandered districts in order to win more easily but in doing so, cut their own throats. These districts are so pure, they will be primaried out of office if they go against Comrade Combover....

If they keep going, they're out. If they go back, they're out.

Cut taxes on the rich, undo regulations of all kinds, weaken Medicare and Social Security, ramp up military spending, pillage public lands, etc. etc.

Why in the world would they fight him?
