2 questions still nagging me about Cambridge Analytica

Question #1: Why aren't Trump supporters aren't more up in arms? They were the original targets of the manipulations, brainwashing and "branding" of Trump by Cambridge Analytica. Why aren't they upset that Russian-backed folks harvested them like zombie brains?

Question #2: Trump routinely uses nicknames to insult people like always prefacing Hillary's name with "crooked." I figured he thought this ugly strategy up, but no, it turns out Bannon and Cambridge Analytica came up with the idea. And what of Breitbart? How much of the stolen data remains in the hands of Breitbart even after the departure of Bannon?

The "crooked" nickname seemed so vicious, and the fact that they tested focus groups to choose it as the best way to engage their base. Just like how they sell sugary cereal at grocery stores, how they brand it, place it at eye-level of kids, advertise the "product." We Americans are very easily manipulated by advertising and marketing. I have no doubt of that.

I wish I knew how we as Americans can stop being so compliant and gullible. We are all impacted.

Cambridge Analytica probably targeted not so smart, easily swayed people.

They could be swayed by, "Crooked Hillary" memes, but probably not by reading newspaper articles.

I doubt if they follow the news in-depth. They probably have no idea what CA is.

would lead them to question their self image. They’re probably the least likely to explore the in-depth articles as well.

Question 2: great question about Breitbart still having that data. I wonder if the new company with Nix, the Mercer’s and Erik Prince has it, too.

One would certainly have to conclude that no one put up a police barricade or firewall on the information highway.

Nix, Mercer, Prince...the mere mention of their names and I hear ominous music play in the background...

Evil oligarchs Western style.

probably developing a different way to achieve their objectives for the next go round, just like this method was different than the ones they used against Gore and Kerry.

What I hope is that we figure it out sooner this time.

On another note, have you watched Babylon Berlin? It takes place in pre- WWII Berlin and in depicting that precarious time feels very pertinent to where we are now. Highly recommend it.

Put that together with the "coming arms race" comment from fuckface and it's truly frightening.
Paging Congress...we need checks and balances NOW.
