The US boxers were a prime time event. And who can forget those Soviet weightlifters and waiting for hours to see this guy come out on the main stage.....
I hope the young folks are creating their own memories tonight watching the coverage.

Plus, Jim McKay. To me, it didn't seem like Olympics for a while after he stopped announcing at them.

(53,410 posts)I've just never been able to forget that, so the Olympics now seem a little scary to me. Though I still admire the Olympians and I like the idea. But it's marred.
