I miss watching the Olympics of my youth. To each his own, I guess.

The US boxers were a prime time event. And who can forget those Soviet weightlifters and waiting for hours to see this guy come out on the main stage.....



I hope the young folks are creating their own memories tonight watching the coverage.

I remember the cold war being played out on the hockey rink and the basketball court.

Plus, Jim McKay. To me, it didn't seem like Olympics for a while after he stopped announcing at them.

I've just never been able to forget that, so the Olympics now seem a little scary to me. Though I still admire the Olympians and I like the idea. But it's marred.
