No one has to miss an event they want to see.

But, I work on Sundays in the Fall, so please don't post any NFL scores! Oh, and I work until midnight on election night, so please don't post any results online!

Heck, I don't have cable, so I can't get the NBC feeds, but I've still found ways to watch everything I want to watch in real time.

Here I was looking for pirate streams and it's available from NBC.

Just too bad, you get a 30 second commercial prior to seeing any coverage or highlights.

as some anti-olympic, anti-greed statement, done intentionally as a disruption to piss off DUers.

We're not talking about an single inadvertent instance of posting results in a subject line. We're talking about a series of posts, made over the course of an hour, by a single poster who made it known why they were doing it.

It started long before any such thing.

Hell, if it was that, then there is even less justification for it.

you can't post the results of something that was broadcast live until everyone has had a chance to what, read it in the next day's paper? this is one of the nuttiest things i have seen here.

I'm on DU only today.

I can avoid any updates on the Olympic events outcomes. Fairly easily and straightforward.

I don't care for sports or the commercialized Olympics. Truly sad. I think what they could be rather than what they are.

Imagine the world doesn't revolve around you...or me.
