Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes' wife alleges widespread abuse in petition for restraining order

Oath Keepers is an anti-government American far-right organization associated with the patriot and militia movements.
Stewart Rhodes, the head of the antigovernment Oath Keepers, will frequently threaten himself and his family with a weapon he always carries, and he has a history of violent outbursts against his family, including an incident in 2016 when he choked his teenage daughter by the throat.

That history was outlined in a sworn petition Rhodes’ wife, Tasha Vonn Adams Rhodes, filed last month in a Lincoln County, Montana, court room asking for a temporary protective order against her husband. Hatewatch obtained a copy of the petition on Thursday.

Vonn Adams Rhodes claims in the filing that the most recent incident involving her husband occurred last November at the family home in Trego, a far-northern Montana town where Rhodes lives with his wife and four of their six children.

“Whenever [Stewart Rhodes] is unhappy with my behavior (say I want to leave the house — he doesn’t like me to leave) he will draw his handgun (which he always wears), rack the slide, wave it around, and then point it at his own head, telling me my behavior has caused this,” Vonn Adams Rhodes wrote in the petition, which was filed on February 20. “I filed for divorce a few days ago and am terrified.”

A gun saved my life and my oldest child's life. I want to see them registered (manufacture to destruction) and don't want open carry or any sort of carry without massive background checks. But defending yourself against an abuser is always OK in my book.

Maybe she could make sure there is one bullet for him always available. Maybe at the right moment, turn on a remote speaker system with the voice of "God" telling him to do himself first, God is waiting to reward him in heaven.

Yeah, I'm a horrible person. But it might save her life and the lives of her kids.

Just the kind of gun nut we need around schools

From Wikipedia:

"In February 2018, soon after the Stoneman Douglas High School mass shooting in Parkland, Florida. Oath Keepers founder Rhoades publicly called upon "tens of thousands" of the group's members to form militias to protect US schools and colleges.[39] Rhodes posted on the Oath Keepers' website in a "National Call to Action": “Oath Keepers, in the wake of the horrific attack … it is time to step up nationwide and defend our schools against the threat of mass murder. Enough is enough”.[40]"
