Trump Venue Change - Is the concern Trump appoints judges, or that he can rain hell down upon them?

There seems to be concerns that Trump wants to change the venue of the Stormy Daniels case from California State Court to Federal District Court.

Being that Trump has control of the federal courts, as to who gets appointed or fired, he yields a lot of influence over the outcome at the federal level. I'm wondering if the concern should be from him getting a judge that he appointed, to getting a judge who won't want to see his peers fired if they rule against the president. It's unlikely that Trump would target the judge presiding over his case, but Trump could rain holy hell down on the court in general.

What are your thoughts?

If it is in reg ct, its public. He wants the 'hush' to go into effect.

Could that have anything to do with it?

There are many judicial vacancies in the 9th Circuit that have not been filed. There are a few nominations in the wings, but they have not been approved by the Senate.

Also, I don't think anyone can select a specific judge to hear your case. That is determined internally by the courts (I think it is some kind of lottery system)

What the benefit is, if taking it to Federal Court vs State Court is that it can then be sent to Arbitration, (which is in the contract)

Arbitration is not a public venue, like the court would be, and it is generally done by a retired ex-judge. It is very possible that none of it would be public.

The big jeopardy for Trump would be in either State or Federal, if it goes to trial, the 'Discovery' process, where information will become public that he probably would rather not be public.

Sessions has been busy requesting Trump friendly judges in key courts in NY & VA, attempting to stack the deck in areas where Trump knows he's under the Intel microscope.

Sounds like a hail mary pass, but that is how Trump plays the mobster game.

I wouldn't doubt one bit that this is one of the reasons for his judge shopping.

He's such a crook.

the state courts. The bottom line is if it gets moved to Federal Court that will be in trashbag's favor. I'm not worried with Avenetti on the case. Both he and Stephanie Clifford are smart...and I got that feeling from Stormy when I heard her speak. She's not some airhead.
