Rep. Eric Swalwell SWATS Trump: "Gloat now, but you will be fired soon"

Gloat now, but you will be fired soon. And it’s not going to be done cowardly, as you’ve done to so many who’ve served you. There’s a storm gathering, Mr. President, and it’s going to wipe out you and your corrupt organization all the way down to the studs.

It seems that Trump and Dubya Bush were riding together in the lead car of Trump's military parade when a tank squashed it flat.

They got to the Pearly Gates. The flunky on duty that day looked in his book and said, "neither one of you is supposed to be here."

"We're going to Hell?" Dubya asked.

"No," said the flunky, "you're going back to earth. You can't go back as what you were, but you can pick anything else you'd like to be."

The two Republican politicians thought that was a good idea.

"Mr. Bush, what would you like to be?"

"I want to be an eagle," said Mr. Bush.

"A fine choice. And you, Mr. Trump?"

"I want to be a stud."

At the end of the day, St. Peter was going over his new man's work.

"And what did you do with those two American politicians who accidentally came up here?" asked St. Peter.

"Mr. Bush wanted to be an eagle. So I sent him to Alaska. It's really nice for eagles there. Lots of fish, clean skies...he's having a great time."

"And Mr. Trump?"

"That worthless fucker is in the wall of an outhouse in Chicago."

He's on the House Judiciary Committee & knows a lot of what's going on with the Russian investigation. He's young, sharp, articulate & comes across great on camera. Dem leadership would do the party a service to take note of the younger members & start promoting them well before the 2020 election so they have name & face recognition. Instead, I'm hearing the names of Biden & Warren & even Clinton. Yawn.

When I was a kid the dems were the young smart party. Now they're the old, played party. The other side has thrown the rule book in the trash. It's time the dems sharpened their game. If we don't gain control of the House in November it could be game over.

Look at what 30 years of Fox News has done to this country.

The ground needs to be laid for Mueller indicting the President. If people aren't prepared for it (by months of hearing on the news about the background and commentary by the Democrats) they are more likely to rally in defense of the President or say "if this is such a big deal, why am I just hearing about it now?"

The Russia scandal is massive and complex and people not paying attention to it are more likely to dismiss it if it is thrown at them in its entirety all at once.

That's why it's critical that Schiff and Swalwell and Mark Warner and all the other Democrats be out pounding the drums constantly for action. It also shows up the deafening silence of the Republicans on what should be non-partisan issues - opposition to blatant attacks on our democratic institutions.

Upthread -- haven't you folks ever used a stud-finder when you were looking for the right place to hang a painting on the wall? Before you go pounding a nail into the plaster, you need to find a wooden support, or the plaster just crumbles around the nail from the weight of the picture.

When your house is damaged, say by rot, you may have rip off all the drywall to get to the frame of the house -- i.e. "take it down to the studs."

here's the definition:

Studs are boards that function as framing elements in your home, supporting the walls. They're spaced either 16 or 24 inches on-center (measured from center to center) along the wall and run between the floor and ceiling. Drywall or lath (for plaster walls) is attached to the edge of the studs.
