The Lamb Lesson

Conner Lamb was a perfect candidate for his district. I represent many union workers who are very much like the PA 18th. They are predominately white male, high school educated, culturally conservative. They want to vote for a Democrat, but the social issues turn them away.

For the record, I'm a liberal's liberal. Katherine Clark (Mass.) is my Congresswomen and I worked on her campaign when she was the underdog in the primary in an open seat created by the elevation of Ed Markey to the Senate. I was a third tier precinct captain and a state convention delegate for Elizabeth Warren. So, I understand our issues. But trade union workers and union manufacturing workers have a more narrow view of being a Democrat than I do.

Conner Lamb struck that cord with these types of voters yesterday. There are at least 20 Republican Congressional districts like PA 18. Those of us on the more progressive side of the Democratic party have to not only tolerate, but welcome those Democrats who represent those districts, if we ever want to reach the majority.

Politics is the art of cobbling together different factions to create a majority. It's an art form in European Parliaments. If we want to take control of government, of the Supreme Court and advance the issues that are important to us, we have to make our peace with this factual reality. Otherwise, we will wander in the wilderness and the reactionary Right Wing will dominate all three branches of our Government.

This is a screen from one his ads with the narrator saying “he still loves to shoot”

I bring this up becauseI don’t think anyone in the party should be talking about banning AR15s.

People will vote for a suckass Republican if they think it will protect access to guns

I don’t consider supporting the RKBA a RW thingbut many do.

Dems are to be 'cobblers'. And 'strike cords'.

I love that! Lots! 😍
