The GOP whiners are asserting non-existent and irrelevant voting matters.

Republican officials are alleging voting irregularities in the District 18 special election, and say they plan to go to court seeking to impound all the voting machines used Tuesday.
. . .
It is not yet clear where such a petition would be filed. But Republicans are investigating a number of purported Election Day irregularities including problems with the machines, voters being told to go to the wrong polling places, and Republican attorneys being barred from overseeing the counting of absentee ballots in Allegheny County.
. . .
County spokeswoman Amie Downs said that on Election Day there had been discussions with Republican attorneys about their ability to oversee the vote-counting process. Under the state Election Code, she said, such observers must have a signed authorization from the chair of the county committee. "They didn't produce that until the very end of the evening, when the ballots had already been scanned," she said.
. . .
But the county reported only a couple isolated problems with voting machines, including low battery power and a blank screen on one machine. There were no reports of "calibration errors," in which touching the screen in one place results in a box elsewhere being checked.

(3,579 posts)I am an elections supervisor in the district next to Conor Lamb's 18th. Without any equivocation or hesitation, I can vouch that the people who work in the office in downtown Pittsburgh are on top of EVERYTHING. Their field rovers who have to check in on polling sites are quick to answer their phones and are diligent about making at least three visits to each polling site during an election day. If the county gets a report of an isolated voting machine problem, they troubleshoot it immediately if guys like me or the precinct judge can't determine the cause and solution. Any alleging of shenanigans in Allegheny County by the Saccone camp is laughable. Allegheny County's Elections Division staff members are second to none when it comes to free and fair elections. If they weren't, people like me would come down hard on them.
If Saccone wants to talk about county-wide shenanigans, let's talk about why Westmoreland County wasn't reporting votes on a precinct-by-precinct level last night.

(6,122 posts)Remember the "hanging chads"? Those votes were not counted and a bunch of Roger Stone-controlled Republicans stopped the hand count. Hmmm.....Why can't we go by the same rules this time?
