(1,387 posts)I'm not happy about the subterfuge used to sideline him. But, divided we fall.
Looks like this operation against Franken is set to claim more democrats as victims. Extra dividends for the perpetrators.
Worrisome.

(47,486 posts)It was a drip drip of new allegations every day and eventually it would have distracted from his work.
But those "concerned" Democrats should have taken him aside, privately, together looking at the rising clouds and it should have been his own decision.
Ir is now clear that Roger Stone was behind it and I suspect that in the coming weeks or months we will know more about him.

(13,776 posts)I love him to bits. What a mensch, to be respectfully willing to accept the possibility that a hand on a person's waist making her uncomfortable could have been his fault, rather than than calling her an oversensitive drama queen.
But wow, what a part in history he played! Not just for all the good stuff he quietly did as a senator from Minnesota, but for exactly the reason you said. A pretty sweet achievement.

(2,078 posts)Weak 'men' going along. They were inclined to defer to 'women' on this.
Catch hell or go along. Thats the truth. Again though, they lacked the strength to potentially be called names.
As it turns out though, now the names are 'weak', 'follower', etc. At best, call them deferential to a fault.
